Jeremy Pruitt and staff have gone into Big 12 country and found themselves in a battle for a four-star cornerback.
The 5-11, 200 pound defensive back ranks as the 295th overall prospect in the 2020 class, according to the 247 Sports Composite. He’s the 15th ranked athlete in the class, currently.
Crawford picked up his offer from Tennessee back in February. He quickly took his official visit to Knoxville on April 12th during spring practices. Crawford picked up his Oklahoma offer in May and took an unofficial visit to Norman last weekend.
Tennessee has already picked up a pledge from the No. 1 ranked JUCO cornerback in the 2020 cycle, Art Green. The Vols have continued to add competitive depth in the secondary, adding Tyus Fields, Warren Burrell and Kenney Solomon in the 2019 class. Alontae Taylor and Bryce Thompson have turned out to be the stars of Pruitt’s first class in 2018, each starting from day one at cornerback.
Pruitt’s ability to develop defensive backs, now along with the addition of Derrick Ansley, has Tennessee in a good spot with their secondary. Can they pluck Crawford out of Texas next?
