Yet another receiver option has emerged for Tennessee in the class of 2020.
Ze’Vian Capers, a 6-3, 195 pound receiver prospect, told 247 Sports over the weekend that the Volunteers were in his top three. He also said that he plans to commit on Monday evening at The Opening.
Capers is a former Arkansas commit. The four-star receiver decommitted from the Razorbacks on June 7th. Now, Capers is down to Tennessee, Auburn and South Carolina.
The Alpharetta, Georgia native is the 112th overall prospect in the 2020 class. He’s the 25th ranked receiver in the class and 12th rated prospect in the state of Georgia.
Considering Capers’ three visits to Auburn in the month of June, the overwhelming thought heading into tonight is that Capers will become an Auburn Tiger. 11 of 15 247 Sports crystal ball projections currently point towards Auburn, as of this morning.
Tennessee offered Capers in March of this year, getting him on campus for a visit during spring practice.
As a junior in 2018, Capers caught 60 passes for 1,182 yards and 11 touchdowns. He ran a verified 4.57 in the 40 yard dash — an impressive time considering his 6-foot-3, nearly 200 pound frame.
Check back later tonight for updates on Capers’ announcement.
