UPDATE: Rogers has committed to Florida State.
Tennessee has landed in the final three options for four-star defensive tackle Emanuel Rogers. The 6-5, 300 pound four-star prospect is set to make his final decision on Friday at noon, he told TCPalm.com.
Rogers is out of Jensen Beach, Florida. He is the 284th overall prospect in the class, according to 247 Sports’ rankings. He’s rapidly risen up the 2020 rankings, playing his first year of high school football in 2018. Rogers played basketball before that, so he’s still learning how to play the game entering his second year of varsity football. He played on both the offensive and defensive lines in 2018.
Rogers racked up eight sacks in his first season of football, totaling 45 tackles — 21 of which went for a loss.
“Whatever college he chooses is going to get a kid who has the physical tools to go as far as he’s willing to go,” Jensen Beach coach Tim Caffey told TCPalm.com. “He’s a freak of nature with his ability to do things for a guy his size. He’s strong, athletic and hard-working. He’s going to be dedicated to the program.”
Today, he’s down to Tennessee, Florida and Florida State. Rogers last saw Florida State in the spring, while the Gators got in the mix with a late offer in February. 247’s crystal ball projections point towards the Seminoles as the favorite.
