A big addition.

After making his plea for 2020 receivers to consider Tennessee at SEC Media Days, Jeremy Pruitt has now added two pass catchers to this year’s class.

Tennessee picked up a commitment from Jalin Hyatt this afternoon, adding some legitimate speed to the Volunteer offense.

Hyatt is a four-star prospect, according to 247 Sports’ rankings. He is the 271st ranked player in the class and the 50th ranked receiver. Hyatt is out of Irmo, South Carolina.

With Jauan Jennings, Marquez Callaway, Tyler Byrd and Brandon Johnson leaving after this season, Hyatt, and any other potential 2020 receiver commits could walk directly into playing time.

Hyatt ran a verified 4.31 at The Opening regional event in April. That speed will bring an element to the offense that Tennessee hasn’t had in a long time. To go along with that blazing speed, Hyatt has a 6-2 frame that he really uses well. His film is filled with winning 50-50 balls, while winning with speed down the field.

Hyatt joins three-star in-state receiver Darion Williamson in Tennessee’s class. Expect the Vols at add at least one, probably two more bodies to the receiver room before this is all said and done.
