After a quiet offseason, Tennessee football has been hit with back to back injuries to kick off the season. Starting defensive tackle Emmit Gooden suffered a knee injury that will keep him out for the entirety of the 2019 season, while starting ‘STAR’ defensive back Baylen Buchanan is dealing with a spine issue. Buchanan’s issue could also cause him to miss the upcoming season.
Just like that, it appears Tennessee will be down two starters. Who is going to step up and step in? On today’s episode of the Rocky Top Talk podcast, we’ll trying to answer that question. Is Greg Emerson ready to deliver? Will Aubrey Solomon even get cleared? Are Savion Williams and Darel Middleton ready to potentially start?
We will also talk about some glowing reviews of a few freshman so far in camp, most notably Warren Burrell and Eric Gray. Those two, along with Henry To’oto’o, Quavaris Crouch, Wanya Morris and Darnell Wright have our full attention heading into the 2019 season.
