Tennessee has suspended sophomore cornerback Bryce Thompson indefinitely this morning, following his arrest this weekend. Thompson was jailed on Saturday night, charged with misdemeanor domestic assault.

Thompson reportedly made threats against his girlfriend of four years and threatened to “shoot up the school,” according to witnesses.

Head coach Jeremy Pruitt released the following statement.

“Bryce Thompson is suspended indefinitely while the process continues. We hold our student-athletes to a high standard. The safety of all students is our first priority here at Tennessee.”

Pruitt is set to address the media at noon today in Knoxville, though it’s unlikely we will get too many more details today as the process continues.

Tennessee opens with Georgia State at home on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
