It’s been a rollercoaster of a week if you’re a Tennessee football fan. The Bryce Thompson news got the week off to a sour start, but the Aubrey Solomon and Trey Smith news leveled us out.
Thompson got into an argument with his girlfriend over the weekend, reportedly threatening her and to “shoot up the school.” Obviously, the latter comment is the one that has Thompson in trouble. Jeremy Pruitt has suspended him indefinitely while the process plays out.
On the other end of the spectrum, Aubrey Solomon was cleared this week after a grueling process with the NCAA. We’ll talk about what he means to this defense, along with how he may have been misused at Michigan.
Trey Smith was cleared to play by Tennessee’s medical staff, fighting back from his second stint with blood clots. He’s expected to play on Saturday against Georgia State and will be closely monitored going forward.
Finally, we’ll get into a little Georgia State preview — what do we want to see from Tennessee against the Panthers? How will things change with all of the injuries on the defensive side of the ball? Will the offensive line dominate the line of scrimmage like they should?
We will discuss all of that below.
