After expecting to make some gains in year two, Tennessee has gone backwards. The Volunteers at 1-3 through four games. Saturday in Gainesville against the Gators went about as badly as it could have. Tennessee had chances early to make some noise, but they found a way to squander each opportunity.
The result? A 34-3 final score — and an all-time low in fan confidence in the Jeremy Pruitt era. After briefly getting fans to buy back in after a 45-0 win against Chattanooga, confidence bottomed out this week.
Here’s a look at the chart for the year.

It’s probably not going to get any better any time soon, either. Tennessee is off this week, then face the third ranked Georgia Bulldogs. A home game against Mississippi State follows that, then a trip to Tuscaloosa to face No. 2 Alabama is next.
The Volunteers will have some opportunities to find some wins later in the year, but the 2019 outlook is pretty dark right now.
As for this week’s top 25, Clemson held on to the top spot. Alabama, Georgia and LSU followed.
Wisconsin jumped up to No. 8 after a blowout win against Michigan. The Wolverines tumbled all the way down to 18th following that loss.
Auburn found another strong win on Saturday, beating Texas A&M to move up to the 7th spot. UCF fell back to No. 22 after getting upset by Pitt.
