Report: Two Tennessee players enter transfer portal

UPDATE 12:15 p.m: Linebacker Will Ignont has left the team, per Pruitt on Wednesday.

A 1-3 start to the season can be understandably tough on both players and coaches — especially if you’re not getting the playing time that you might have thought you deserved. That’s probably the case with Shanon Reid and Jacquez Jones.

Both Reid and Jones have entered the transfer portal, according to John Brice.

Neither Reid or Jones were seen at practice today, along with linebacker Will Ignont. There’s no word on Ignont’s status at this point.

Shanon Reid was behind Henry To’o To’o, Daniel Bituli, Jeremy Banks and Ignont on the inside linebacker depth chart. Reid appeared in games against Georgia State and Chattanooga, totalling 11 tackles on the year.

Jones was buried on the receiver depth chart, even after the departure of Jordan Murphy. Still Jones did see some playing time, appearing in three games so far this season.
