In one of the weirder things you’ll ever see on an SEC basketball court, official Mike Nance walked squarely into Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes, then appeared to accuse Barnes of making contact with him.
Watch the strange exchange below.

Gotta say, that’s a new one.
“I have a lot of confidence in the SEC office, that they’re going to look at that,” Barnes said after the game. “And I believe they’ll look at this game and take it apart.
“It shouldn’t happen. It shouldn’t happen in any way, shape or form. But I would like to say what I want to say, but I won’t, because I just trust the SEC office will do the right thing.”
Barnes looked down and smiled at his ringing phone during his press conference, appearing to receive that call he was looking for from the league office.
“I’ll call them back,” Barnes said.
Tennessee lost the game to the Aggies after getting out-rebounded 46-21. Texas A&M hit a couple of big shots in the closing minutes to salt away what was a very competitive game. The loss stung for Tennessee, which is still trying to claw its way into the NCAA Tournament field.
But tonight, the story seems to be about that strange moment with the referee. Barnes could be seen skipping the handshake line after the game, following the officials off the floor, clearly upset.
