A report from FootballScoop had Tennessee fans worried about one of the Vols’ top assistant coaches. Lane Kiffin was reportedly targeting Tee Martin for his vacant offensive coordinator position at Ole Miss, but according to Jimmy Hyams, Martin is staying put.

Martin joined Pruitt’s staff last season after moving on from USC, where he was the co-offensive coordinator. It was a long awaited reunion for Tee and the Volunteers, who finally was able to return to Knoxville 20 years after his national title run under center.

Pruitt was able to add Martin as a receivers coach, completing an all-star coaching staff heading into his second year at the helm of the Tennessee football program.

We’ve already seen one staff member poached so far this offseason. David Johnson is headed to Florida State, setting Tennessee up with one opening to fill so far.

Martin will be put to the test this season, tasked with replacing production from Jauan Jennings and Marquez Callaway. Josh Palmer, Ramel Keyton and Brandon Johnson will more than likely carry the flag for that group in 2020. He will also start to develop key four-star prospects like Jalin Hyatt and Jimmy Calloway in their first year at Tennessee.
