Week 2 SEC Picks: Straight up and against the spread

The picks are in.

NCAA Football: Georgia at Arkansas Brett Rojo-USA TODAY Sports

Week No. 2 of SEC football is here.

Mississippi State was able to save a rather pedestrian slate last week, springing the upset on the defending national champs of LSU. Outside of that, the chalk held steady, although Vanderbilt and South Carolina made things interesting.

This week we’ve got our first marquee game of the season. The Auburn Tigers will travel to Athens to take on the Georgia Bulldogs in an early statement matchup. Georgia could trot out former USC quarterback JT Daniels at quarterback, potentially offering a solution to a clear weakness last week against Arkansas, so that’s something to watch.

Tennessee and Missouri kick off the day with a noon kick at Neyland Stadium. Our entire staff is on the Vols, including three out of the four picking Tennessee to cover an 11.5 point spread.

The staff is split on the Georgia-Auburn game, while Nick went against the grain and picked Ole Miss to pull off the mild upset over Kentucky.
