Tennessee rises in latest AP Poll

After a delayed 4-0 start, Tennessee is on the rise in the AP Poll once again. The Volunteers blew out Appalachian State and Tennessee Tech last week, picking up expected wins by huge margins. Things will get a little tougher tonight against Saint Joseph’s.

Tennessee holds resume-building wins over Colorado and Cincinnati so far. They likely won’t be tested again until SEC play begins with the Missouri Tigers.

Gonzaga holds the top spot in this week’s poll following a convincing win over Iowa. Baylor and Kansas follow in the poll, with Iowa and Villanova rounding out the top five.

The Volunteers checked in at No. 8 overall.

Cuonzo Martin’s Missouri Tigers are up to No. 14 in the country this week, setting up a showdown on December 30th against Tennessee. As of right now, those are the only two ranked teams in the SEC.
