After seeing his contract expire at the end of January, Tracy Rocker will indeed move on from Tennessee. He’s staying in the SEC East, however. The veteran SEC assistant will now head to South Carolina, joining Will Muschamp’s staff, according to 247 Sports.
Rocker has been with Jeremy Pruitt since he arrived at Tennessee, but saw his contract expire without a new deal on January 31st. A potential move here had been rumored for some time, especially after Tennessee failed to close out a couple of top prospects on the defensive line.
Drew Hughes, Tennessee’s director of player personnel for the last two seasons, is also headed to South Carolina this morning. So Jeremy Pruitt has two more positions open on staff, including an on-field role with the defense.
According to VolQuest, Detroit Lions defensive line coach Bo Davis and Colorado defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh are a couple of possibilities to replace Rocker.
