Tennessee and South Carolina are set for game No. 2 on the season, with the Gamecocks looking for a little payback. The Volunteers somehow pulled out a win at home against South Carolina in January, winning an ugly matchup.
Frank Martin’s Gamecocks have rebounded since, going 7-2 since that loss to Tennessee. The Volunteers have gone in the other direction, going 4-5 in that same span.
Tennessee leads the series 47-27 overall. They’ve won five straight games against the Gamecocks.
Injury note: Josiah James has been cleared to play after missing the last four games. Yves Pons, Jalen Johnson and John Fulkerson have each been sick this week — we’ll see if they’re all good to go closer to tip-off.
