Tennessee and Kentucky will square off this afternoon at Thompson-Boling Arena — a place that has been a terror for the Wildcats over the last few years. Rick Barnes is a perfect 4-0 against the Wildcats at home since taking over the program.
Kentucky is ranked 15th in the nation, sitting at 17-5 overall and 7-2 in the SEC. Needless to say, this would be a massive win for Tennessee’s NCAA Tournament resume, which isn’t dead, but is still on life support at the midway point of conference play.
Tennessee has won four of six against Kentucky, but they’ll have to find a way to keep that pace up today without Grant Williams or Admiral Schofield. Can John Fulkerson, Jordan Bowden and Yves Pons give the Vols enough offense against a stout Kentucky defense?
