The Tennessee Lady Vols have earned a No. 6 seed in this week’s upcoming SEC Women’s basketball tournament. Tennessee, fresh off of a last second game winner against the Auburn Tigers, will now head to Greenville, South Carolina set to play on Thursday night.

The Lady Vols will take on the winner of Ole Miss and Missouri, while the No. 3 seed Kentucky Wildcats await the winner of that contest.

South Carolina took the top seed, while Mississippi State, Kentucky and Texas A&M followed.

Much like the men, the Lady Vols limped down the stretch of SEC play this year. Just a couple of weeks ago, Tennessee dropped five straight games, tumbling to 17-9 overall. They were able to rebound as the schedule lightened up to finish with a 20-9 record — 10-6 in SEC play.

The Lady Vols remain in the NCAA Tournament field according to most projections. ESPN currently has them in as a No. 10 seed, sitting squarely on the right side of the bubble. A strong week in Greenville would make everyone feel a lot better about their chances, however.

The SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament will kick off live on the SEC Network on Wednesday night. Tennessee will play on Thursday night, with tip-off loosely scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET.
