Much like the men, the Lady Vols limped down the stretch of SEC play this year. Just a couple of weeks ago, Tennessee dropped five straight games, tumbling to 17-9 overall. They were able to rebound as the schedule lightened up to finish with a 20-9 record — 10-6 in SEC play.
The Lady Vols remain in the NCAA Tournament field according to most projections. ESPN currently has them in as a No. 10 seed, sitting squarely on the right side of the bubble. A strong week in Greenville would make everyone feel a lot better about their chances, however.
The SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament will kick off live on the SEC Network on Wednesday night. Tennessee will play on Thursday night, with tip-off loosely scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET.
