Tennessee is in the hunt for the nation’s top JUCO cornerback prospect. De’Jahn Warren named the Volunteers as one of his top choices on Saturday, along with ten other schools.

Penn State, Georgia, Alabama, Oregon, Ole Miss, Maryland, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, West Virginia and Nebraska joined Tennessee on his list. Warren tweeted the video with the note “things can change.”
Our own Clint Eiland named cornerback as Tennessee’s top need in the 2021 class, citing the loss of three seniors, along with the potential loss of a junior.
Odds are Tennessee loses one of Alontae Taylor or Bryce Thompson after 2020, in addition to guaranteed losses of seniors Kenneth George Jr., Shawn Shamburger, and Baylen Buchanan. That’s a major depth hit.
Warren is the top ranked JUCO cornerback in the 2021 class, per 247Sports. The 6-0, 175 pound defensive back currently plays at Lackawanna Community College, where he was a JUCO All-American honorable mention in 2019. Warren racked up five interceptions and three forced fumbles last season.
Tennessee gave him his first offer on December 20th. The Vols signed Savion Williams in the class of 2019, who also attended Lackawanna.
Tennessee currently has one cornerback committed to their 2021 class in three-star Jay Jones. Warren would give the Volunteers a veteran presence at corner, which is something they may really need next season.
