Tennessee added a commitment today from a speedy running back out of North Carolina. Jaylen Wright announced on Monday that he was the latest member of the Volunteers’ 2021 class, giving them their second running back of the cycle.

Tennessee offered Wright in early February. He was able to attend a junior day event in March before face-to-face recruiting was put on hold due to the coronavirus outbreak. Just weeks later, Wright announced his commitment.
Wright is a three-star running back out of Durham, North Carolina. He checks in at 5-11, 187 pounds. Miami, Syracuse, Rutgers and Arizona State were a few of the other offers on the table for Wright.
The two-sport star plans to run track and play football in college. Wright won a state title last season in the 55 meter dash. That track ability is evident on the football field, as Wright shows off an explosive burst and legitimate long speed. He runs hard and pretty tough considering his size.
Wright joins Elijah Howard in Tennessee’s 2021 class, a three-star back out of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Wright is the 8th member of the Vols’ class, which now sits at 15th in the country, per 247Sports.
