Things were dicey in Greenville for the Tennessee Lady Vols — until they weren’t. A one time 13 point lead for the Missouri tigers was erased in the third quarter. Then a 15-0 run to close the third quarter gave Tennessee all they needed to close out the Tigers.
After a sleepy start, the Lady Vols woke up and took care of business. The win was a must with Tennessee sitting on the NCAA Tournament bubble. While they aren’t exactly a lock to get in after beating a 9-22 Missouri team, you could make the argument that a loss there could have taken them out of the field entirely.
In the win, Rae Burrell scored 16 points and Rennia Davis scored 15 points while adding nine rebounds. Tennessee outscored Missouri 23-6 in that pivotal third quarter.
