Tennessee beat Alabama 69-68 on the road last month. It was a 15 point comeback for the Volunteers, keeping their season alive at the time.
The Kentucky Wildcats secured the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament, and await the winner of Tennessee-Alabama. The Volunteers went into Rupp Arena and beat the Wildcats on Tuesday night behind a 27 point effort from John Fulkerson.
Auburn earned the No. 2 seed, while LSU and Mississippi State each secured the No. 3 and 4 seeds, respectively.
Following the loss to Auburn at home on Saturday, Tennessee needs a deep run in the SEC Tournament if they want to secure a bid in the NCAA Tournament. At this point, it may very well take a championship run — but wins against Alabama and Kentucky may get them close.
The fun begins on Wednesday night with Georgia vs. Ole Miss and Vanderbilt vs. Arkansas.
