Tennessee picks up a pair of 2021 commitments during Saturday’s junior day event

A pair of additions.

It was a productive Saturday for Tennessee Football. The Volunteers picked up two commitments from 2021 prospects during a junior day event in Knoxville — the first coming from a familiar name.

Isaac Washington re-committed to Tennessee on Saturday after decommitting a few weeks back. Washington committed earlier in the year, but reopened his recruitment after Tennessee chose to go in a different direction at defensive line coach. Tracy Rocker saw his contract expire and moved on to South Carolina.

Washington noted that in his decommitment note, but Tennessee got him back on campus to meet the members of the new look staff. After one visit with new defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh, Washington committed to Tennessee once again.

The three-star defensive lineman out of North Carolina held an impressive offer list, including Auburn, Florida and Georgia. Washington checks in at 6-3, 268 pounds.

The second commitment of the day came from Edwin White, a three-star safety out of Mobile, Alabama. The 6-0, 196 pound defensive back was also on campus for a visit during junior day festivities, deciding to give his pledge to Tennessee.

White held other offers from Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Kansas. He is the 606th ranked player in the class of 2021, per the 247Sports Composite. White picked up his offer from Tennessee all the way back in December of 2017.

With the commitments, Tennessee moves up to 12th overall in the very early 2021 class rankings, currently standing with seven known players in the class.
