Tennessee football continued their recruiting hot streak on Monday night, when four-star receiver prospect Julian Nixon officially committed to the Volunteers. It’s the third big commitment of the last three days for Tennessee, who have landed five-star pass rusher Dylan Brooks and four-star defensive back Kamar Wilcoxson in the last 48 hours.
Nixon announced the commitment on Twitter today.

The 6-3, 230 pound receiver had been trending in Tennessee’s direction for some time. Nixon admitted that Tennessee led ‘by a lot’ last month before making things official today.
Nixon is the 238th ranked player in the 2021 class overall, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. The big-bodied receiver comes out of Georgia, a state that Jeremy Pruitt’s staff has continued to hit hard since arriving in Knoxville.
This is the fourth wide receiver commit in the 2021 class, joining four-star Jordan Mosley, three-star Roc Taylor and three-star Walker Merrill. Tennessee should be done at this position for this cycle, barring any decommitments.
On the field, Nixon obviously has really nice size for the position. Centennial High School used that size to create matchups in the endzone, which Nixon usually won. He’s a long strider who is powerful after the catch and was even used as a wildcat quarterback in some spots.
Tennessee is now up to 13 commitments in their 2021 class. Following Nixon’s announcement, the Vols now hold the No. 5 class in 247Sports’ 2021 class rankings.
