Tennessee’s 2021 class is filling up quickly this week. The fourth commitment of the week comes from JUCO running back Tiyon Evans, who announced his decision this afternoon.

In Tiyon Evans, he found one. Many around the Vols believe the JUCO RB is one of the best in the country — regardless of class or ranking.
The 5-10, 225 pound bruiser averaged 8.8 ypc in 2019 with 9 TDs.
Evans is 5-9, 225 pounds. Per 247Sports, he’s the top JUCO back in the 2021 cycle, coming out of Hutchinson Community College. Evans is the third-ranked overall prospect in the JUCO ranks.
Before today, Evans had six crystal ball projections that pointed towards South Carolina. With recent momentum with them, Tennessee was able to prove that projection wrong.
Both Ty Chandler and Tim Jordan will be exiting the program after this season, leaving a big gap in the Tennessee backfield. Eric Gray is there for at least two more seasons, but the future spots behind him are unclear. Tee Hodge, Jabari Small and Len’Neth Whitehead are the current options in the freshman class.
Evans is the third running back commitment of the 2021 class, joining Elijah Howard and Jaylen Wright. There’s one more name to watch at the running back spot — Cody Brown. Tennessee and Auburn are battling it out for the four-star back, but the Vols suddenly have a crowded future room.
Stay tuned here — we’re not done today.
