The 6-0, 200 pound linebacker is another versatile defender that fits the mold of what Tennessee looks for at the position. Willis is the nation’s 110th overall prospect in the 2021 class, checking in as the 9th rated outside linebacker, per 247Sports.
Willis was committed to Virginia Tech back in 2019, until his offer list exploded. He backed off of that pledge last spring after adding Clemson, Alabama, LSU, Tennessee and Georgia offers.
The Baltimore, Maryland native has recruiting analysts split, with some thinking his eventual home could end up being at safety. He has some bulk to add to play linebacker at the next level, but his speed and pursuit are enticing for the position.
Willis was set to take several visits this spring, but his recruitment — along with every other prospect — is on hold at the moment due to the coronavirus outbreak. The top 150 prospect will be a busy man when the restriction is lifted.
For what it’s worth, Willis’ lone crystal ball projection points towards Alabama.
