Another day, another list of finalists. Four-star edge rusher Landyn Watson is the latest to narrow his list of options, trimming his schools of interest to just six. Watson included Tennessee on that list, grouping them with Arizona State, California, TCU, Virginia Tech and Arkansas.

The 6-3, 235 pound pass rusher is a four-star prospect, ranking just outside of the top 300 prospects in the country, per 247Sports. Watson is out of Hutto, Texas. In his last two years as a starter, Watson has a total of 14.5 sacks and 34 tackles for loss. He’s forced three fumbles and totalled over 100 tackles.
Watson committed to LSU last summer, but backed off of that pledge in the fall. Tennessee sent out their offer a couple of months later in January.
The Volunteers made a big splash a few weeks back, landing five-star pass rusher Dylan Brooks to solidify that position. Brooks joins four-star prospects Tyler Baron and Morven Joseph from the class of 2020, creating a pretty bright future at that spot on the roster going forward.
Watson currently has seven crystal ball projections pointing towards Virginia Tech. Tennessee certainly could use another body at the position though, so we’ll see if the Vols get more involved here late in the process.
