In the latest of several virtual meeting with former Volunteers, Albert Haynesworth was the latest to drop in and offer words of wisdom to his former position group. Peyton Manning and Donte Stallworth have made appearances during the coronavirus shutdown, now Haynesworth took his turn.
The former first round pick of the Tennessee Titans spoke to the defensive line about the lasting relationships that he formed in Knoxville and what they’ve meant to him throughout his life since college.
"These relationships you build here at UT are going to carry you a lifetime."

“To this day, I still go up and go talk to Coach Fulmer,” Haynesworth said during the call. “I could call him right now and talk to him. To this day, he’s always been there for me no matter what. For Coach Fulmer to bring in the coaches and bring Coach Pruitt, and Coach Pruitt to bring in all the coaches that you guys are around, that’s the mentality what Tennessee is showing, you know what I mean? It’s crazy, like I talk to other guys in the league about their college experience. People don’t even go back to they school. Like you’re always going to be a VFL, you’re always going to be a Vol.”
Haynesworth played at Tennessee from 1999 through 2001. He was selected 15th overall in the 2002 NFL Draft, going on to play a ten year career with two all-pro first team appearances.
