After a hot week on the recruiting trail, Tennessee has landed inside of the top five for another blue chip prospect. JJ Jones, a four-star receiver prospect, named the Volunteers to his top five on Saturday night. Georgia, Mississippi State, North Carolina and South Carolina joined Tennessee on his list.

Tennessee earned a pledge from four-star receiver Julian Nixon just days ago. Nixon joins Walker Merrill, Roc Taylor and Jordan Mosley in the Vols’ currently 2021 receiver class. But Tennessee may not be done just yet at the position.

Jones ranks as the second ranked overall prospect to come out of the state of South Carolina in 2021. He’s the 49th ranked receiver prospect in the nation. Jones caught 45 passes as a junior, totalling over 700 yards and 16 touchdowns at Myrtle Beach High School.

The 6-3, 195 pound receiver picked up his offer from Tennessee back in January, following a visit to Knoxville. South Carolina is the perceived leader for Jones, currently holding eight of nine crystal ball projections, per 247Sports.

Tennessee currently holds the third ranked recruiting class in the country with 15 total commitments, five of which have come in the last week. They’re expected to stay hot in the coming days, so stay tuned.
