Another highly ranked Tennessee target is set to announce his college decision. KaTron Evans, a four-star defensive tackle from Baltimore, Maryland, will make his announcement on Saturday evening at 5 p.m.
Evans made that announcement today via Twitter.
I’ll be commiting Saturday May 9th @5 o’clock STAY TUNED ‼️#LongLiveMonti

He’s the teammate of four-star, top 125 overall linebacker Aaron Willis, who is expected to make his college choice on Sunday — one day after Evans. Both appear to be leaning Tennessee’s way.
Evans checks in at 6-4, 320 pounds. He’s the 179th overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite rankings and the 9th rated defensive tackle in the nation. Evans recently named a top eight consisting of Auburn, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, USC, TCU and Arizona State.
Tennessee commit Dominic Bailey, another four-star defensive tackle, came from the same high school just one season ago.
The Volunteers are up to 18 total commitments in their 2021 class, good for second overall in the nation, trailing only Ohio State. Tennessee has earned eight new commitments in the last ten days. Four-star quarterback Kaidon Salter also plans to announce his college choice on Sunday, potentially giving the Vols three new commitments over the weekend.
Evans fits the bill of what Jeremy Pruitt has done up front on the defensive side of the ball — length and girth. It wasn’t all that long ago that he was forced to play converted defensive ends at tackle spots. Now, his defensive front is starting to resemble one that can play with anyone in the country.
Keep your eyes peeled this weekend for even more good news, if you can stand it.
