Brian Niedermeyer has been an absolute rockstar since arriving at Tennessee. Jeremy Pruitt gave him his shot as Tennessee’s tight ends coach on his initial staff, and he didn’t disappoint.
Niedermeyer has been credited with landing five-star tackle Darnell Wright, four-star linebacker Henry To’o To’o and four-star linebacker Quavaris Crouch. He landed four-star pass rusher Tyler Baron last season, and now has earned a commitment from five-star linebacker Terrence Lewis so far in this class.
The 31 year old assistant coach was named the 247Sports recruiter of the year during the 2019 cycle and hasn’t let up since. Jeremy Pruitt moved him to inside linebackers coach during the offseason, a move that seems to already be paying dividends. From the looks of things, we may see more of those dividends on the recruiting trail soon.
Why is Niedermeyer so effective? His age probably helps. Tennessee put his personality on display this week by producing an ‘Outer Banks’ audition tape for Niedermeyer, spoofing Nexflix’s current top-ranked show.
The result was hilarious.

So while other rivals are tweeting out highlights of them smashing Tennessee during their worst decade of football, Niedermeyer and the Volunteers are out here making TikTok videos.
And guess who keeps winning on the trail?
Stay tuned for a fun weekend ahead.
