The recruiting process is always about hype and mystery. Both always ramp up during the summer months.
Most of it is player-fabricated, which is what makes it so much fun. Recently, four-star safety Kamar Wilcoxson sent out an encouragingly cryptic tweet targeting Vol fans.
i got something cooking Tennessee, just wait until 4th of July.

Whether he’s cooking hot dogs or spare ribs — it doesn’t matter. Everyone on Rocky Top is now tuned in to Wilcoxson’s Independence Day plans.
Wilcoxson —as aforementioned— is a four-star safety out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. The 6-foot-1, 183-pound talent gave the Vols a hard commit via Derrick Ansley on April 27, but it looks like he may have something else up his sleeve as well.
His recruitment has been strange of late, sending out tweets calling Florida his dream school. Though he remains committed to Tennessee, it does seem like there’s some work to be done here to keep it that way. Wilcoxson has been one of the catalysts on the trail for Tennessee though, helping land a flurry of commitments during the spring.
What could July 4th bring? We’re about to find out.
