Social media can be a tough place to hang around these days, but former Tennessee basketball star Grant Williams gave us all a laugh on Sunday afternoon.
Williams sent out a message, wishing all the dads in the world a happy Father’s Day. He completed the tweet with a photoshopped picture of him holding a child with a Vanderbilt logo on his head.
Happy Father’s day to the all the amazing dad’s out there. @Vol_Hoops @admiralelite15 pic.twitter.com/HmkvX98IkS

As hilarious as the tweet was, Grant isn’t even all that wrong. In 2019, Williams dropped a career high 43 points against the Commodores. The year before that? Williams scored 37 points. Arguably the two best games of his career came against Tennessee’s mid-state rival.
Tennessee has now won six in a row over Vanderbilt as the two programs have veered in opposite directions. Williams was a massive part of the Volunteers’ rise under Rick Barnes, transforming himself from a three-star, undersized prospect to a first round NBA draft pick.
His NBA rookie season could be set to resume this summer, but Williams took a break from those preparations to come back and troll Vandy. You have to respect that.
