Where will the Vols end up?

Will Jeremy Pruitt bring home some more hardware in 2020?

Bowl projections are always fun, no matter how accurate/inaccurate they turn out to be. It’s always intriguing to see outside perspective regarding your favorite team(s).

247Sports just released their 2020 bowl game projections this week and have the Tennessee Volunteers taking on the TCU Horned Frogs in the Academy Sports + Outdoors Texas Bowl.

This is what the outlet had to say about Tennessee’s projection:

The word: After ending Jeremy Pruitt’s second season on a lengthy winning streak that culminated with a bowl victory, the Vols look to take the next step in getting back to prominence this fall, anchored by a host of returning impact players on defense. TCU-Tennessee would make for an exciting matchup. The two programs have only met twice with the Vols winning both times in the 1970s.

Last year’s Texas Bowl featured the matchup between the (7-5) Texas A&M Aggies and the (8-4) Oklahoma State Cowboys. An 8-4 record is a very reasonable expectation for the Vols, so the math works out in that regard. The Horned Frogs, however, are an interesting choice after finishing 5-7 in 2019.

But of course, there will be some who want - and expect - more from the Big Orange.

What do you think? Is this an accurate projection for Tennessee? Let us know via the poll/comments below!
