Though we may be ramping up (hopefully) for the 2020 football season, recruiting never sleeps. With just a handful of spots left in the 2021 class, focus has already shifted to the 2022 group. Tennessee sent out several new offers on Friday, focusing on the defensive side of the the ball.
Jeremy Pruitt has excelled on this side of the ball on the trail over the last couple of seasons, particularly in the front seven. He and his staff are looking to keep that momentum going by offering a few of the top prospects in the 2022 class early on.
Here are the names to know.
Defensive tackle Daniel Lyons: Four-star prospect out of Homestead, Florida. Lyons is the 199th ranked prospect in the 247Sports Composite rankings. Lyons checks in at 6-4, 270 pounds and holds over 20 offers already.

Obviously, these prospects have missed out on several opportunities to take visits during the spring and summer. It’s been a much different process for them to this point, and there’s no guarantee that face to face recruiting will return anytime soon. The current pause of on-campus recruiting goes all the way through August 31st.
Assuming we still do see a week one, these prospects can resume their visits on week one. Those four names are a few early bets to keep an eye on for the next cycle.
