List season continues today with another potential answer on the edge. Ty Cooper, an under the radar pass rusher out of Louisville, Mississippi, named Tennessee to his top 12 on Tuesday.
Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Colorado, Illinois, Memphis, Arkansas State, Georgia State, Southern Miss, Louisiana-Lafayette, Alcorn State and Jackson State rounded out the wide-ranging list of options for Cooper.

Cooper currently sits outside of the top 1,000 players in the 2021 class, per 247Sports’ rankings. He’s rated as the 1,223rd overall prospect — the 18th ranked player out of the state of Mississippi. Cooper stands in at 6-4, 238 pounds.
As a junior, Cooper was credited with nine sacks and 21 tackles for loss. Tennessee gave him his first major offer back in February of this year. Since then, several more power five offers have rolled in.
Unfortunately for Cooper and others in this class, his recruitment started to heat up right as the COVID-19 pandemic hit. He’s been unable to take visits to these new schools offering him, setting up an extremely busy fall if visits are able to resume. They are currently restricted through the end of August.
Coming out of Mississippi, it should come as no surprise that Mississippi State and Ole Miss are the current favorites to land Cooper. Both have received crystal ball projections, per 247Sports. If Tennessee covets Cooper, they’ll have to begin by beating those two schools.
