Tennessee’s red hot run through April and May on the recruiting trail left just a few spots remaining in their 2021 class. The group now consists of 23 commitments, meaning the Volunteers are likely going to be pretty picky with the final remaining spots.
Two targets that are candidates to fill those remaining spots have announced their commitment plans this weekend. Five-star tackle Amarius Mims revealed his commitment date of August 15th on Sunday on Twitter.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS
Mims is the nation’s sixth ranked player, checking in at 6-7, 315 pounds. He’s the top player in the state of Georgia, making the Bulldogs an obvious favorite. Georgia holds seven crystal ball projections for Mims.
The five-star prospect named a top ten in April consisting of Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Clemson, LSU, Oregon, Auburn, Oklahoma, Florida State and Florida.
Another name you’ve probably heard about by now is Payton Page — the massive defensive tackle out of North Carolina. He’s the 81st ranked player in the class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
Page has been down to Tennessee, North Carolina and Clemson for some time now. He announced this weekend that he would be making his decision on July 28th.
Page is 6-4, 360 pounds out of Greensboro. Clemson currently holds all of crystal ball projections for Page.
Tennessee has an uphill battle with both prospects, but these are two targets that they’ve been after for some time now. Pay attention to both situations here over the next several weeks.
