As expected, Tennessee’s quarterback depth chart is getting a little thinner. Quarterback Kasim Hill intends to transfer from Tennessee, per a report from Trey Wallace. Hill joined the team last summer.

Tennessee has senior Jarrett Guarantano leading the way, followed by sophomores Brian Maurer and JT Shrout. Five-star prospect Harrison Bailey joined the mix in January, creating a nearly impossible path for Hill to compete for the starting gig. Additionally, top-100 prospect Kaidon Salter is already committed to Tennessee’s 2021 class.
Hill joined Tennessee as a walk-on last year as he attempted to recover from back to back ACL injuries at Maryland. While he was ineligible to play, Hill operated as the team’s scout team quarterback during practice sessions.
He exploded onto the scene with Maryland in 2017, leading the Terrapins to an upset of Texas. Hill’s first knee injury came shortly after, however, stalling the progress of his college career. Another knee issue completely derailed it.
Once again, Hill will be looking for a new home as he tries to prove himself before his eligibility expires.
