The college football season is very much up in the air, but watch list season must continue. On Tuesday, Tennessee quarterback Jarrett Guarantano was named to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award watch list.

The Golden Arm Award is handed out each year to the top senior quarterback. LSU’s Joe Burrow took home the hardware last season.
Guarantano was one of 48 passers named to the watch list.
Now a senior, Guarantano has a chance to finish off a frustrating career in Knoxville. He’s been through it all at Tennessee — four offensive coordinators, two head coaches, playing behind truly dismal offensive lines, but 2020 is pretty easily his best chance to succeed. Guarantano enters year two in Jim Chaney’s offense and will get his entire offensive line back from last year.
It’s always been about consistency with Guarantano. We’ve seen the flashes — think back to Missouri and the final minutes against Indiana last year — but we’ve also seen far too many low points. As a senior, it’s up to Guarantano to eliminate those bad days and give Tennessee a steady option under center.
Guarantano joins Eric Gray, Henry To’o To’o, Velus Jones Jr., Brent Cimaglia, Trey Smith and Cade Mays on prominent watch lists for the upcoming season.
