Another week, another appearance in the top 25 for the Tennessee Volunteers, who have yet to play a game to this point. This strange season will get somewhat normal next weekend when Tennessee opens against the South Carolina Gamecocks in Columbia.
The Big Ten is back, meaning they’ve been re-added to the rankings after being removed last week. The Pac-12 is now the lone power five conference in limbo, and well, nobody really knows what’s going to happen there.
So we’re technically entering week four now, which means the SEC is finally set to join the field this weekend. Expect some real movement soon, but for now, this is what we’ve got.
Four SEC teams landed in the top six — Alabama, Florida, Georgia and LSU. Auburn and Texas A&M, were voted inside of the top 11. Kentucky fell out of the top 25 as five Big Ten teams moved back into the rankings.
(Tennessee plays all of the teams listed above, outside of LSU. Fun!)
Tennessee’s week one opponent, South Carolina, received 22 votes in the poll, which slates them as the 38th ranked team in the poll. The Vols are three point favorites on the road against the Gamecocks.
