The early signing period for the 2021 class is behind us, which means early 2022 list season is upon us. Five-star edge rusher Jeremiah Alexander joined the party on Friday night, naming an early top six.

Tennessee is on his list, along with Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU and Alabama.

Alexander stands in at 6-2, 235 pounds. He comes out of Alabaster, Alabama — the No. 1 ranked player in the state, per 247Sports. Alexander is a five-star prospect and is currently the top-ranked weakside defensive end prospect in the country, checking in as the No. 12 overall player.

Last summer, Alexander committed to Alabama. However, five months later, he decommitted and reopened his options. Now as we creep towards the summer months, Alexander is one of the most prominent prospects on the board.

Alexander was offered by Tennessee back in 2018 and was actually able to make a visit to Knoxville in January of last year. He attended a junior day in Knoxville, just a couple of months before in-person recruiting was stopped.

From a frame standpoint, Alexander seems to fit the exact bill of what Jeremy Pruitt wants in a linebacker. Pruitt would likely have Alexander playing at each linebacker position, similar to his plan with current Vol Morven Joseph.

Alexander has 23 sacks, 70 tackles for loss and nearly 300 total tackles in three years of high school ball.
