A new man is in charge of Tennessee football, and we now have the full slate of games for this fall. Josh Heupel was hired by new athletics director Danny White on Wednesday, replacing Jeremy Pruitt. Heupel will attempt to bring his high-flying offense to Rocky Top in 2021, but has quite the rebuild ahead of him.

Also on Wednesday, the SEC released the 2021 schedule. We don’t exactly know for sure what the in-person stadium situation will look like, but for now, here’s the plan.

2021 Tennessee Football Schedule

  • September 4th: Bowling Green
  • September 11th: Pittsburgh
  • September 18th: Tennessee Tech
  • September 25th: at Florida
  • October 2nd: at Missouri
  • October 9th: South Carolina
  • October 16th: Ole Miss
  • October 23rd: at Alabama
  • October 30th: OPEN
  • November 6th: at Kentucky
  • November 13th: Georgia
  • November 20th: South Alabama
  • November 27th: Vanderbilt

2020 brought us a ten game season — an all-SEC slate. Hopefully by the fall, college football will be able to welcome back non-conference matchups. Tennessee’s non-conference slate in 2021 is headlined by Pitt making a trip to Knoxville.

Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss will make a trip to Knoxville on October 16th, which will be a game that will not lack storylines.

The Missouri and Georgia dates have essentially been flipped from what we’ve grown accustomed to over the years. Georgia will now be a mid-November matchup, while Missouri shifts to the first weekend in October.

Josh Heupel’s first SEC matchup will come against the Florida Gators in the swamp during the traditional late September weekend.
