Another former starter for Tennessee has entered the transfer portal. Running back Ty Chandler is the latest to test the waters, per multiple reports this morning. Matt Zenitz broke the news first.
Have learned that Tennessee running back Ty Chandler has entered the transfer portal

Chandler signed with Tennessee as a four-star prospect in the class of 2017. He was the 67th overall player in the country, coming out of the Nashville area. Now a senior, Chandler has an opportunity to come back for one more year of college football, and Chandler will look elsewhere for more playing time.
Eric Gray took over the Tennessee backfield late in 2019 with a huge game against Vanderbilt. Since then, Chandler has been the clear No. 2 option for the Volunteers. Chander ran 100 times as a senior, totaling 456 yards and four touchdowns.
With Gray set to return, Jabari Small could be the beneficiary of Chandler’s departure. Incoming JUCO transfer Tiyon Evans could also be a logical option as the No. 2 back. Len’Neth Whitehead, Tee Hodge, Dee Beckwith, Cody Brown and Jaylen Wright are the other options on the roster.
Chandler is the next on a long list of transfers so far this offseason. JT Shrout, Jarrett Guarantano, Brandon Johnson, Deandre Johnson, Austin Pope, Savion Williams and Baylen Buchanan are just a few of the key names that have transfered or remain in the portal currently.
