Tennessee made a statement on Saturday, putting a full game together to crush the Missouri Tigers 62-24. It was an elite rushing performance for Tennessee, which took full advantage of the soft Missouri run defense to run for 458 yards yards.
It was a key ‘swing game’ win for Josh Heupel, and the Volunteers have a chance to build on that performance for another win next weekend. Tennessee will welcome South Carolina to town on Saturday, looking to improve to 4-2 on the year.
Following their offensive outburst, Tennessee has been installed as a 12 point favorite over South Carolina.

The Gamecocks are also in year one of a new head coach, as Shane Beamer takes over for Will Muschamp. South Carolina sits at 3-2 overall, marked by unimpressive wins over ECU and Troy. They’re 0-2 in SEC play, dropping games against Kentucky and Georgia so far.
A trip to Tennessee is up next — a game that many had circled as a toss-up heading into the season. Vegas clearly disagrees, as South Carolina has underwhelmed so far this season.
Much more on this game as the week unfolds. Josh Heupel will address the media on Monday.
Tennessee and South Carolina are set for a noon ET kickoff on ESPN2.
