Tennessee moves up in the AP Poll following a bounceback week

NCAA Basketball: Mississippi State at Tennessee Randy Sartin-USA TODAY Sports

After dropping two games last week, Tennessee answered the call and turned things around with a couple of wins this week. The Volunteers squeaked one out against Mississippi State and then blew the doors off of Kansas on Saturday night.

For those efforts, Tennessee jumped back up in the AP top 25 poll, moving up to No. 11. Iowa, Alabama, Virginia, West Virginia, Missouri, Wisconsin and Florida State all took losses last week, helping to boost Tennessee in this week’s poll and shake things up a bit.

Tennessee has a road trip to Ole Miss scheduled for Tuesday night, and then a visit to Kentucky set for Saturday night.

Gonzaga and Baylor held on to the top two spots, as expected. Oklahoma, fresh off of a huge win over Alabama, jumps all the way up to No. 9.

Florida entered the poll this week at No. 22, following a big win over West Virginia. Missouri tumbled down to No. 18, while Kansas dropped to No. 23 after losing to the Volunteers on Saturday.
