Another week, another frustrating result for Tennessee basketball. The Volunteers were able to beat Georgia without Yves Pons on Wednesday, but produced a clunker against LSU. The Tigers controlled the game from the jump, as Tennessee continued their up-down trajectory.
As a result, Tennessee slid from No. 16 to No. 19 in this week’s AP Poll. The Volunteers with the No. 11 overall seed in the mock tournament field released by the committee this weekend, landing on the No. 3 seed line. That likely changes after Saturday’s results.
Tennessee will face South Carolina and Kentucky at home this week, once again looking to right the ship.
Yet again, the top spots remained unchanged in the AP Poll. Gonzaga, Baylor, Michigan and Ohio State held on to the top spots. Alabama moved up to No. 8, while Missouri tumbled down to No. 20 after a loss to Ole Miss. Arkansas entered the poll at No. 24.
