Tennessee vs. South Carolina: How to watch and game thread

NCAA Basketball: South Carolina Upstate at Tennessee Randy Sartin-USA TODAY Sports

After a positive COVID test on Tennessee’s side delayed this game by a day, the Volunteers are set to welcome South Carolina tonight in Knoxville. It will be the first meeting of the season between the two teams, with their first matchup postponed due to COVID.

The Gamecocks are just 5-9 on the season and have been one of the teams most affected by the pandemic. South Carolina is 3-7 in SEC play, dropping four of their last five games. Frank Martin’s team has remained competitive, however. The Gamecocks took Alabama to the wire last week, and also dropped a close one to Ole Miss.

For Tennessee, it’s possible that we see some absent players tonight due to COVID protocols. The Vols had one positive test during Sunday’s round of testing, so it’s possible that we see a bit of a modified lineup/rotation tonight.

South Carolina Key Players

Guard AJ Lawson: 17.9 ppg, 20+ points in four of his last five games. Volume shooter connecting on 36 percent of his attempts from three-point range.

Small Forward Keyshawn Bryant: 14 points and five rebounds per game. Double-figure scorer in 11 of 14 games this season.

INJURY NOTE: South Carolina will be down two starters tonight — Jermaine Couisnard and Justin Minaya. Minaya is the leading rebounder on the team, while Couisnard averages nearly ten points per contest.
