Tennessee’s frustrating season continued over the weekend with the Volunteers getting smacked by Kentucky. It was a familiar feeling to that of a few weeks ago, this episode just came without the rapid comeback at the end.
The Volunteers once again went 1-1 this week, able to at least get by South Carolina on Wednesday. Overall, Tennessee now sits at 15-6 — just 8-6 in SEC play. Their inconsistent play has now dropped them all the way down to 25th in the AP Poll, just one spot shy of falling out completely.
Tennessee has just one more week of scheduled games left, coming against Vanderbilt and Auburn. The SEC could reschedule games for the week after, but nothing has been finalized to this point.
Elsewhere in this week’s poll, Alabama climbed all the way up to No. 6, while Arkansas moved to No. 20. Missouri fell to 24th.
Gonzaga, Baylor, Michigan, Ohio State and Illinois made up this week’s top five.
