Once again, the Tennessee Volunteers find themselves searching for answers coming off of a bad loss. The Vols were taken apart by Kentucky over the weekend, failing to sweep the Wildcats for the season and tumbling further down the projected NCAA Tournament seed list with just a couple of games left to play.
Tennessee won’t have a chance to add another signature win this week with Vanderbilt and Auburn on deck. We’ll see if the SEC adds back Florida or South Carolina next week.
First things first, the Volunteers have made the trip to Nashville tonight to take on the Commodores. Vandy sits at 6-12 overall, but they’ve given two outstanding efforts in their last two tries, coming up just short against Alabama and Kentucky. They catch Tennessee at a good time tonight with the Vols dealing with injuries to Josiah-Jordan James and Yves Pons.
Can Scotty Pippen Jr. and Dylan Disu come up with enough points tonight to spring the upset? Tennessee can’t afford to sleep through this one.
UPDATE: Scratch that. Vanderbilt will be without Pippen, Disu and Clevon Brown tonight.
Breaking: Vanderbilt confirms that Scotty Pippen Jr., Dylan Disu and Clevon Brown are all out tonight vs. Tennessee. Reason not given but believed to be injuries for all three.
