Tennessee-Florida rescheduled for Sunday, March 7th

NCAA Basketball: Florida at Tennessee Randy Sartin-USA TODAY Sports

Following a postponement a couple of weeks back, the Tennessee-Florida matchup is officially back on in Knoxville. The SEC announced several makeup dates this afternoon, including the Vols and the Gators playing on Sunday, March 7th.

The SEC built in an extra open week for this exact reason, in hopes of adding flexibility to schedules across the conference. In league play, Tennessee didn’t experience too many issues with COVID, only losing games to Florida and South Carolina. Now they’ll get one of those games back, with a chance to add another solid win to their resume.

Florida trounced Tennessee in Gainesville back in January. The Gators controlled the game from the opening tip, putting the Volunteers away to the tune of 75-49. Since then, Florida has moved to 12-6 overall, sitting 8-5 in conference play.

Tennessee’s final regular season matchup is slated for this Saturday on the road against Auburn at noon ET. The SEC Tournament will begin on March 10th, and run through March 14th.
