Tennessee and Florida are set for round three on Friday afternoon in Nashville.
The Gators took care of business on Thursday in the second round of the SEC Tournament, beating Vanderbilt 69-63.
Tennessee and Florida will meet for the second time in the last five days, with the Volunteers coming off of a 65-54 win in Thompson-Boling Arena. The Gators climbed out to a 31-17 advantage in the first half, but the Vols came storming back and regained control in the middle of the second half.
John Fulkerson, Victor Bailey Jr. and Keon Johnson led the way for Tennessee, each scoring 14 points.
One key difference in this matchup than Sunday’s? Florida will have point guard Tre Mann back in action. Mann, who averages 15 points per game this season, missed Sunday’s matchup with migraines. Mann scored 22 points in Florida’s win over Vandy today.
Of course, Florida smacked Tennessee by 26 points back in January without a couple of key players. This is actually be the first of the three meetings that Florida will be at full strength for.
Tennessee was installed by Vegas with +500 odds to win the SEC Tournament this weekend. Florida was slightly off of that, with +600 odds.
Tip-off for this one is slated for (roughly) 2:30 p.m. ET.
